About Aerasponics

Aerasponics was founded by gardeners, for gardeners of every type. Technology for the love of plants. We realized that our technology could be made available to other home gardeners like ourselves. We are looking to improve technology for flower gardening, vegetable gardening, organic gardening, and all other container gardening uses. This is a hybrid to hydroponics gardening.

We found the problem with the typical plant container is oxygenation. The basic idea of the container is to hold soil and water…unfortunately that same design keeps oxygen out. In the field of horticulture, it is well known that roots of all plant species need oxygen for growth, health, and good production. In nature, the essential supply of oxygen comes mainly and freely from soil air. However, in the case of container plants, conditions for oxygenation of root systems are less than ideal.

We decided the solution is simple. Soil in nature is a natural medium for the growth of plants. It is an open, dynamic system made up of solids, liquids and gases interacting with living organisms (plants, microbes, animals), climate, and topology. Therefore our goal is to replicate nature and so our simple solution is to add an aeration chamber in the hypoxic soil zone. The results, a cross between hydroponics and a new hybrid process we call aerasponics (pronounced er-a-pawn-iks), have been outstanding.
